About us

Bryson
Longhorns began as a wild idea as I had intentions of buying
generic longhorns and breeding them to beef bulls such as the Brangus
and Limousin variety. After some success with these, we began a quest
for raising the best longhorns that we could by getting involved in the
registered longhorn business. After a trip in 2000 to Dickinson Cattle
Company and a long visit with Darol Dickinson, we decided to buy our
first real longhorns. While we were still in college in 2002, we bought
a big bodied Brindle-striped son of The Shadow named Shadow Boxer and a
real nice Gizmo daughter. The next year, we purchased daughters of
Shadowizm, Bail Jumper, Salida Slick, and Fultz Field. From there we
retained heifers and a couple of bulls and started building a herd
around these cow families. Our goal has not changed. We strive to
breed the best total longhorn around. We want big bodies with full hips,
good spring of rib, straight toplines, excellent dispositions, colors as
varied as the rainbow, and oh yeah, horn. Over the past 3 breeding
seasons we have been using artificial insemination to bring in some
outside blood and also to achieve desired horn shapes and extra length.
Today, the bloodlines in our herd include the sires mentioned above as
well as Overkill, Victory Lap, Unlimited, Not Gunna, Phenomenon,
Tabasco, Highwayman, and we are currently waiting for the birth of
calves by Mile Marker and Win Win. We recently
purchased a young PCC Evade 22 son named PCC Rampage from Pace Cattle
Company in Utah. We will be using him to flatten out the horns on
our cows. Also, to mix things up a bit, we are
entering into some partnership breeding with Bond Ranch to add some more
outside blood through the Hunt’s Command Respect family by artificially
breeding our big, thick cows to Smoky Diamond- 76 1/4” T2T. Feel free
to call and talk cows or to set up a visit to view our cattle.
Virtually all of our cattle are for sale. If you think the price is too
high, it’s because we probably want to keep that animal. If you just
have to have it, pay up and we will replace it. You will find that most
of our cattle are priced reasonably especially for the quality you will
be getting. If you compare apples to apples, we
feel that you will want to buy our cattle. All our females are OCV’d, dewormed twice a year, receive
minerals all year, and receive fly control. Bryson Longhorns is
not a fly by night kind of operation. We are in this business for
the long haul. If you would like to get a piece of what we have
been working hard to build, then call us up. Also, when you inquire
about our animals, ask about free delivery that is available in several
southern states. Thank you, and may God bless.
